Known as the golden island of Venice, the Lido is a 12 km long strip of land that divides the lagoon from the Adriatic Sea. Rich in eighteenth-century buildings, from the nineteenth century it became a chosen place for holidays or residences by numerous poets and writers such as Lord Byron and Thomas Mann, who set much of his masterpiece "Death in Venice" here.
Full day experience in the company of a tour guide to explore the Lido island in bike tour mode. Pedaling mostly along cycle paths we will stop in the heart of the island to admire the fantastic decorative ceramics of the famous Grand Hotel Ausonia, a true work of art. Not only that, because the golden island of Venice is also known for the many Art Nouveau villas with their beautiful wrought iron gates, the sandy coast overlooking the sea, and the walls, the Istrian stone dam built by the Republic of Venice in 1700 to defend the lagoon from sea erosion.
